It seems like if 2014 is going to be a metal year with all those awesome albums and releases !
Meadows end decided to launch their new album as well in 2014 ; for people who don't know the band , Meadows end a Melodic/Symphonic Death Metal from Sweden formed by 6 members "Johan (The Brute) Brandberg" -Vocals ; "Robin Mattsson" in the Keyboard; the guitarists "Jan Dahlberg" &"Rikard Öqvist" ; the bass player "Mats Helli" and last but not least the drummer "Daniel Tiger".
After their first full-length album "Ode to Quietus," the band returned with their second album, "The Sufferwell," which is set to be released on June 13. Once again, the band members showcased their skills in every track of the album.
"The Sufferwell" contains 11 tracks, each offering something unique to enjoy! The album kicks off with some awesome keyboard notes before the drums and guitars kick in. Johan's brutal voice adds an atmospheric touch to the song, making "Kings Of Greed" a strong opening for the album.
Immediately following is "Trench Of Souls," a track for those who love dynamic shifts in music. "Ur Askan," which means "From the ashes" in Swedish, is the 3rd song, with the keyboard playing a prominent role. The song features an old-school solo that adds to its awesomeness!
Next up is "Devil Speed Loathe Kill," characterized by fast riffs and drum beats, making it the most powerful song on the album. It's a track that's perfect for headbanging! This is followed by "Reap," which features magical riffs, melodies, and solos. The melodic death metal elements shine through, making it an atmospheric track.
"Under A Canopy Of Stars" provides a moment of relaxation and contemplation, being the only acoustic track on the album. It's accompanied by a clean female voice before we dive into the symphonic sea with "Hung In Gallows By Dawn," "This Coming Nightfall," and "Masses Flee"!
The 9th song, "Funeral Of A Porcelain Doll," combines epic riffs and melodies, creating an epic atmosphere. And we conclude our journey with "Insurrection," a mix of grunt and clean male voice, serving as a fitting epilogue to the album.
In general, "The Sufferwell" is another album that proves Swedish bands rock! It's an album that can satisfy various tastes, with all the members showcasing their skills. I can confidently say that you can listen to it multiple times without getting bored!
"The Sufferwell" differs from "Ode to Quietus," with each album being epic in its own way. I can clearly see the band's improvement, which makes me anticipate even better music on their next album! And mark my words: This album is set to be one of the best in 2014!
